Whether you are exploring the wilderness, travelling and staying in accommodation or simply at home - this cartridge with quick-connect fittings for 1/4" tubing allows you to connect it to almost any water source using various accessories (optional).
The three-stage filtration of this cartridge purifies almost any water and makes it drinkable.
Using the filter while travelling: Connect the filter to a tap in your hotel room using an aerator adapter (optional) and enjoy water free of germs and bacteria. Even the chlorine often contained in the tap water of southern countries is neutralised.
Take the filter with you on your adventure: Connect the filter to a bottle adapter (optional). Fill any plastic bottle with water from the river and press it through the filter. Drinkable water comes out.
Use the filter at home (e.g. as a refrigerator filter): Thanks to the quick-connect fittings (1/4") you can operate the filter on your water dispenser or refrigerator without adapters or extra effort. Simply replace your refrigerator's classic activated carbon filter with the Ultra Filter and enjoy 99.9% protection against germs, viruses and bacteria.
The 3 filter stages:
<1> Sediment filter: The first stage consists of a foam pad that retains most coarse suspended particles such as sand and sludge particles.
<2> Activated carbon (granulate): In the second stage, the water flows through the activated carbon granulate and is freed from chemical compounds such as dissolved chlorine and pesticides.
<3> Hollow fibre membrane: The core and main filter of the cartridge is the hollow fibre membrane. Consisting of many fine tubes, these let water molecules pass through their 0.2µm fine pores. Everything larger than 0.2µm is filtered out.
How big is 0.2µm?
Mathematically:
0.0002 millimetres (mm) = 0.2 micrometres (µm) = 200 nanometres (nm)
In practice:
100µm - human hair
60µm - human sperm cell
10µm - fine dust particle
0.5 - 3µm - carcinogenic asbestos fibres
0.3µm - smallest known bacteria
0.2µm - pores of the hollow fibre
