Combined pre-filter cartridge (CCF)
This pre-filter actually consists of two filters combined into one cartridge. In the first section of the cartridge, sediment is filtered out of the water. Dust, sand, rust etc. are removed from the water down to a diameter of 5 microns (0.005 mm). The second section contains a pressed activated carbon block, which improves the taste and odour of the water. In addition, the activated carbon is pressed so densely that a filtration level of 1 micron is achieved here as well. Furthermore, the block effectively removes the following contaminants:
- organic contaminants (microorganisms, bacteria, fungi),
- mechanical impurities,
- chlorine and its toxic derivatives,
- lead and toxic heavy metals,
- pesticides, detergents and phenols
According to the drinking water regulation (DIN EN 806-5), water filters should be replaced after a maximum of 6 months due to the risk of germ build-up!

In reverse osmosis filtration, tap water is pressed through a semi-permeable membrane with extremely small pores against the natural osmotic pressure.
Filtration takes place at the molecular level:
While water molecules can pass through the membrane, the only slightly larger elements such as dissolved salts, lime/carbonates, nitrate, nitrite, heavy metals, organic compounds, pesticides, even radioactive particles and many other molecular compounds are retained by up to 99% and flushed out into the waste water.
